Financial assistance

MilkHaven Family Scholarship by Milk Drunk Club

Specialized nutrition support should not depend on whether a family can absorb one more bill in the middle of a medical crisis. The MilkHaven Family Scholarship by Milk Drunk Club helps eligible families facing financial barriers access Milkify Medical's MOM Fortification services.

Milk Drunk Club, founded by NICU nurse and IBCLC Shannon Pratten, sponsors the scholarship and funds it through its MilkHaven breast milk storage collection.

3%

of every MilkHaven collection sale

goes to the scholarship fund. No extra step, no add-on at checkout. A purchase one mother makes for her own milk quietly helps another family.

Why this exists

Care that travels from one mother to another

“Your breast milk isn't disposable. Neither is the mother who makes it, or the baby who needs it.”

Shannon Pratten, RN, IBCLC, Founder of Milk Drunk Club

After more than twenty years at NICU bedsides, Shannon partnered with Milkify Medical because MOM Fortification starts with the mother's own milk rather than replacing it. The scholarship makes sure cost is not the thing standing between a family and that conversation.

Who it is for

Families who could use the support

The scholarship is for families whose baby's care team is considering, or has recommended, MOM Fortification, and for whom cost is a real barrier. Eligibility is determined through Milkify Medical's program together with your baby's medical team.

If cost is the thing standing between your family and a conversation with us, that is precisely the situation this scholarship exists for. Please consider this a genuine invitation.

Every scholarship-supported service still includes

  • Overnight shipping on every shipment
  • Expedited processing
  • Nutritional analysis of your baseline milk and your powder
  • Custom fortification recipe from a licensed dietitian

The scholarship is financial assistance toward the service. It never changes the clinical process or what the service includes.

How it works

Four steps, starting with a conversation

1

Start with a conversation

Request information and tell us you are interested in the scholarship. Our medical director leads intake for every family and can talk through both the clinical questions and the financial ones.

2

Confirm clinical fit

Whether MOM Fortification is appropriate for your baby is decided through our program together with your baby's own care team. The scholarship never changes that decision.

3

Submit your application

Applications are submitted to Milkify Medical. Milkify Medical and Milk Drunk Club review them together to select recipients, and your information is used only for this scholarship.

4

Assistance applied to your service

If your family is selected, the award is applied toward the cost of your MOM Fortification service. Everything the service includes stays the same.

The clinical service and the scholarship are two different things

MOM Fortification is a medical service

It is provided by Milkify Medical under the supervision of your baby's providers, for infants weighing more than 1,800 grams. Whether it is appropriate for your baby is a decision for you and your baby's care team.

The scholarship is financial assistance toward that service

Milk Drunk Club's role is to help fund it and to review applications with Milkify Medical to choose the families it supports. It never makes clinical decisions about your baby. Applications are submitted to and administered by Milkify Medical.

MilkHaven products are separate

MilkHaven is a consumer breast milk storage collection sold by Milk Drunk Club. It is a separate offering and is not part of, or validated for, Milkify Medical's process. Explore the MilkHaven collection.

Other ways to pay

Every family can also use 0% interest payment plans at checkout, pay with an FSA or HSA card, and in select cases pursue insurance coverage. Our team can help you assess your coverage.
